In 2006 we celebrated the university's 100th anniversary. We are proud to be the first educational establishment in Russia where a faculty for higher medical education for women was formed. We were pioneers in opening in 1930 at our University the first pediatric faculty in the world which has become a role model for pediatric faculties in other countries all over the world. The world's first faculty for medico-biologics was opened in our University in 1964. Medical investigators in medical fields of biochemistry, biophysics and cybernetics are trained here.
